Real estate briefs from The Oklahoman for Sept. 12, 2020

Chinowth & Cohen acquires Churchill-Brown & Associates

Tulsa’s Chinowth & Cohen Realtors has acquired Churchill-Brown & Associates Realtors, based in Edmond, giving it a total of 775 agents working out of a dozen offices.

Chinowth & Cohen already was the largest independent real estate company in Oklahoma, with both residential and commercial divisions, plus its own title company, Elite Title Services. About 100 agents came with the purchase, said Sheryl Chinowth, who cofounded the firm in 2004 with her husband, Lee Cohen.

It is a family concern. Chinowth is CEO. Cohen is CFO. Sons Leland Chinowth and Taylor Leland also are executives, Leland as president of Chinowth & Cohen, Taylor as president of Elite Title.

Churchill-Brown, founded by Monty Churchill and Kermit Brown in 1973, had offices at 1901 W 33rd St., Suite 100, in Edmond, and 2814 W Country Club Drive in Oklahoma City.

In addition to Tulsa, Chinowth & Cohen has offices in Bartlesville, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Carlton Landing, Coweta, Monkey Island, Muskogee, Owasso, Sand Springs and Skiatook. An Elite Title location is planned for 7550 N May Ave.
