CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — After a one-year absence, the Shenendehowa School District Science and Health Discovery Fair is back.
The free event that attracts and amazes any student with the slightest bit of interest in the fields of science and health will take off at 6:30 p.m. April 12 in High School East.
Take off is the operative word because any science experiment scheduled to be done outside will get underway almost immediately after the start time so as to make use of the remaining daylight. Some of these experiments tend to be the most visually impressive of the entire evening.
Past Science and Health Fairs have had exhibitors set up throughout the high school including the lobby area, hallways, auditorium, cafeteria, and a number of classrooms. Each year brings new exhibitors with new information on how the fields of science and health can offer mental stimulation, enjoyment, and satisfying careers.
One new exhibition sure to create a wealth of interest this year will be the district’s Shen Inventors Competition for grades K-8. After being part of the Town of Clifton Park’s Winterfest for many years, the competition was switched this year to the Science and Health Discovery Fair.
This is an evening that offers a chance for many elementary and middle school students to try their hand at the exhibits and information tables or feel the creepy crawly touch of the odd animal species for the first time.
