FITCHBURG — Rollstone Bank & Trust is the sponsor of a free, three-part small business series that will take place on the first Wednesday of April, May and June.
The events are hosted by NewVue Communities at Fitchburg State University’s ideaLab, located at 717 Main St.
“We are really excited to be offering this seminar series,” said Jaqueline Mastrangelo, the small business developer at NewVue Communities. “It’s a great opportunity for entrepreneurs because it will provide a wealth of information including a roadmap on how to start a business and local resources available to help get you off the ground.”
The seminar schedule is as follows:
n Seminar #1: Navigating City Hall, 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 3
It will cover where to begin when starting a new business, who to contact at local municipalities, permits and inspections.
The speaker will be Mary Jo Bohart, director of economic development for the City of Fitchburg
n Seminar #2: Turning a Dream into Reality, 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1
It will cover the fundamental principles of starting a business, including how to write a business plan, business banking and commercial lending requirements.
The speakers are Ray Belanger, small business director of NewVue Communities; Robert Courtemanche, assistant vice president/credit officer and Ross Potvin, commercial credit analyst of Rollstone Bank & Trust
n Seminar #3: Protecting Your Business in a Digital Age, 5-7 p.
m., Wednesday, June 5
It will cover how to make smart choices about electronic banking services and best practices for online banking, and Cybersecurity 101: Digital Do’s & Don’ts.
The speakers will be Katherine Dearborn, first vice president eBanking & deposit operations and Paula Murphy, first vice president/information security officer of Rollstone Bank & Trust
